I have just released my coffee table keepsake, LEFT EYE RIGHT FINGER ® Journey East Africa. Having traveled to over 105 countries it seemed like just yesterday I picked up my first camera and started a wonderous path of enlightenment of photography. I have been just about everywhere once or twice. Storytellers, have the gift point blank, and we really know how to turn it on. In fact, each of us have that something that inspires and uplifts the curious soul of others. From my vantage point, your purpose is manifested in your ability trust yourself.
Here are three reasons to trust yourself by letting go.

1 Take A Chance on You! That’s right. Take a chance on yourself because that’s all you got. Have you ever been in the zone and you don’t hear the phone, TV or the noise of chaos in your ear. Purpose is about finding a quiet place and focusing on quieting the soul of truth. Normally this happens at 3AM for me when answers flow easily in my head. When the answer comes, don’t hesitate. Do exactly as told and hit that send button. Its the answer you have been looking for all along. You just need to settle the mind and wait for the fog of confusion to disappear. That, my friend, is the chance you have been seeking.

2 Agitation will manifest your purpose. Have you every wondered why your laundry gets cleaned inside of a washing machine. Sure, the chemicals of your favored scented washing detergent can get the dirt out but not without the help of the agitator. That’s right, your clean clothes won’t be as clean and smelling good without a little back and forth from that million dollar scrubbing device. Its the agitation that gets the dirt out and ensures success. Likewise, your purpose needs a little reassurance of the agitator to make it worth the while. Once that cycle is completed, soon your purpose will manifest itself to satisfaction and reality. You can easily see that in your today. Its those yeses and nos that have placed you where you are today. You are perfect in that sense. You are your Authentic Self. As long as you maintain that focus, your purpose will remain clear.
Your beliefs, and your beliefs alone, belong to you. You are the only one who is with you for your entire life; you can never escape your own point of view. Don Miguel Ruiz Jr.
3 Trust yourself. Have you ever completed a 5K or received an achievement belt in a Karate class? Yep, that little thingy called a medal cost less than 20 cents if you buy them from China. But to the awardee, it means the journey was worthwhile. The only person that gets that prize is you, the purpose driven guru, who labored in the middle of the night, trying to prove that God and faith were one in the same. Faith unlocks those doors that tears can’t hide any longer. When you just can’t stand the pain you push through and there you are crossing the finish line after all that training, agitation and hitting the send button. The only person standing there is the one who took on the opportunity, scrutiny and adulation of the crowd, YOU. Good job, you did it. You crossed the finish line, just to do the same thing over again. There isn’t some magical potion to purpose other than, the aforementioned above. Get going and make a difference that you were put on Earth to make.
And just like that, you are ready to begin the process again. Journey East Africa is the first of many books to come. The next book will have quotes, poetry and aphorisms from my travels. Subsequent books will be animation, comics and some travel based topics. I hope you will hang in there with me and witness the growth of storytelling through my lens and experiences of my purpose driven life.
